Naming Your Business
Naming your business is a very personal thing. It has to represent you in your entirety, it has to be classy and professional, it has to be fun and creative, the list goes on and on. But probably what you don’t think of right away is where you will be found. It used to be the phone book but who do you know that still uses this? Everyone goes online for everything. Even the elderly are tech savvy. Now, having said all of that, you will still be listed online in alphabetical order, so with that in mind, use the word Dent as your first word. If you use PDR then as you can guess, you will be at the bottom. Perhaps ‘Dent Removal PDR Technology’ or something like that. So you see? there really isn’t any opportunity for creative expression. You have to go with what works. Now you can list your real name right under or after it. You just want to pay attention to where you fall in line in the listing.
Now, outside of the listings, you can get as creative as you want. Create your own logo or have someone create it for you. You can use a Marketing firm such as 3rd Street Marketing, and ask them to create a logo based on how you describe it. Even if can’t draw, they are really smart at imagining what you mean.
So get creative, know your branding strategy, and keep in mind that you want to show as close to the top of Yelp and other directories.
